Soooo…… I could have included this in the last post (DJs in Detroit), but after having this cake last night I realized it deserves its own blog. Personally I will always have a piece of cake at wedding receptions (it is good luck for the bride and groom). I have had many a cake at the countless number of receptions I have been to. This cake probably will go in my favorite top three of ALL time!
I remember getting it just after finishing the formal dances for Luke and Nicole (their wedding rocked btw). Once I tasted it, it was like an explosion of joy rushed in my mouth! I am not even messing with you on this one. The cake was layered white and chocolate (I forgot how many tiers it was). Hidden between the two layers baked into the cake was chocolate ganache and a lighter frosting that tasted like ice cream.
I had to investigate where this cake came from, and it turns out that Nicole order it from the Holiday Market in Royal Oak on Main Street. I actually, I just got off the phone with Cara who is one of the cake decorators at the Holiday Market and thanked her personally =)
The Holiday Market has a wide variety of tortes, pies, cakes and pastries. Their bakery also offers sculpted cakes, hand drawn artwork, and photo cakes.
